Weekly Weigh-In...Question of the Day: plastic surgery edition!

I am a day late on my Monday weigh-in but nevertheless, it is a good day!! I will just jump right in...

Last Monday: 198.6 pounds

Today: 196.2 pounds!!

Loss: 2.4 pounds :)

This means I have about 4.5 pounds to go in the next 27 days to hit my birthday goal of 192 pounds!! I have been working hard so we will see what happens!

*************************

And now for my QOTD:

Let's talk plastic surgery...answer only if you feel comfortable enough. I know some of you have already hit your goal weight but most of us are working our butts off trying to get there. I also know that some of you who are already at that "maintaining" stage have opted to have a breast lift/tummy tuck/etc.

I was just curious...When you hit your goal weight and lose all the weight you are wanting to lose, are you wanting to follow your weight loss with plastic surgery of any kind such as a breast lift, tummy tuck, etc.? I know there are people on both sides of this issue. Some people that absolutely do not believe in plastic surgery and vow they will never do it and then there are people like me that are all for it when they get to their goal weight.

So for my answer, depending on what my insurance says, my saggy skin, etc., I would love to be able to have surgery to fix my loose skin and lift the twins so they don't hang down to my belt :)

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

  1. Way to go on your weigh-in this week!!

I'm pretty sure I'd like to have my boobs and tummy done eventually. Between the weight and two pregnancies my stomach is a wreck. Of course, I don't know what it'll look like when I manage to lose another 50lbs, so who knows?

  2. I had it done 50 lbs ago! My boobs haven't really changed - just a bit smaller than before. My stomach is the same but my upper stomach was the problem after the tummy tuck. They didn't suck enough fat out of there with the lipo. So now that is where my fat sticks...lower tummy fine upper not so much - even with the 50lbs weight loss. Don't get me wrong my stomach is inches smaller but still the problem area! Not sure it would be any different if I'd had the TT now rather than later. Bottom line my "areas" have held up with the added weight loss!

  3. Yay! Great Weigh in! I have to have major plastic surgery just to help me with mobility. the loose skin on my arms, legs, and stomach are causing rashes, aches, & imbalances already and I have alot more weight to lose. I will have my tummy done, arms, legs, boobs, and whatever else the insurance will pay for.... I never believed in plastic surgery to chance the way God made you look... but God didn't make me look like this, I did. So, I will try to get me back to God's vision of me... LOL

  4. I am ALL FOR IT. I have always had saggy boobs, and now they are starting to shrink (ie, hollow out!), so they need to be lifted in a major way, and depending on what happens, maybe filled up a bit (I have had huge boobs my entire life, and would be very confused without them!) As far as everything else, we'll see what it all looks like. Definitely willing to have whatever insurance will pay for/I can afford, etc.

  5. Even though I've lost nearly 110 lbs., I don't really feel like I need plastic surgery. Yes, I have some loose skin around my stomach and fanny, but it isn't visible when I'm dressed or even when I'm wearing a one-piece swimsuit. I am older than you (37) and have had two pregnancies so I may feel differently about loose skin than a younger woman.

  6. Woo hoo on your weekly loss! That rocks!

as far as your QOTD: I am definitely planning on having at least breast implant/lift/nipple placement once I reach goal. I fortunately have little to no saggy skin and I've been losing slowly enough to keep it that way. BUT if I ever have children in the future I will def be getting a tummy tuck afterwards!

I say YAY to some fix-er-uppers!

  7. I thought for sure I would want PS -- boob lift and tummy tuck. But my parts are not as bad as I thought they would be (I still have 20 or so to go, but I get the idea of how things are going to settle in....).

"Not as bad" is a relative term - I am 20 years older than you! You will get so much more out of your perkier parts, so I would say go for it.

BUT definitely wait until you have your babies. Pregnancy, nursing, all that fun stuff does a number on your boobs and tummy. Even if you don't think you would want to breast feed, I think you should keep the option open. It would be horrible if you wanted to and then couldn't.

Right now the thing I want most is lipo for my fat knees! I have had fat knees my entire life and they are not getting skinny any time soon!

Major congrats on the new low!

  8. Congrats on the loss, you are rocking! As far as Plastic Surgery, I don't know yet, but I have 45 pounds to go and I'm 48, so I feel differently about things. I do want an eye lift, if that counts!

  9. I am 29 and have no issues with plastic surgery and have been thinking that I will definitely do it. But, I have not had children and would like to, so I am thinking that I should wait to do that before I do anything stomach or breast wise because I know my body will change a lot after that. All still remains TBD and will depend how I feel/look when I get to goal I guess.

  10. Congrats on your loss; your doing so well. As for plastic surgery.....I think I'd go for a boob lift. So far, the tummy seems to be shrinking fine.

  11. I am so getting a lift and tuck :) But I am still new in the WLS world so that is a while off! Congrats on the weight loss!

  12. Nice loss!

I think I will definitely want a lower body lift/tummy tuck after all is said and done, but I'll wait until I'm done having children at this point. Everything from my tummy down has always been a problem for me :(

  13. Congrats on a great weight loss!
As for the QOTD, YES!!!! I am pretty sure my thighs, arms and stomach will have to be done, and I have already decided I would want to have my boobs done :p

  14. Hey Kristen!

I'm 10 pounds from my goal of 175.5....... AND....... I'm scheduled for surgery on June 17th! I'm getting an arm lift, boob lift, and tummy tuck. My surgeon wanted me to be within 20 pounds of goal, and since I'm there now.... I can cruise until June, or continue to go full-out, ape shit crazy and try to lose as much as I can between now and then. :)

My insurance, as usual, isn't paying for a drop! I'm an individual payer (self-employed, so no group coverage available for me) and we tend to get screwed when it comes to certain procedures...... bariatric and plastics at the top of the list! So........ for what I'm getting done: $17K. Well, I can't take it with me. Oh....... and my kids will have to get financial aid once they're ready for college

  15. I am def not opposed to it, and have already warned my husband that it may be coming, but I'm not sure what I'm gonna need done, if anything. Well, not true, I know the girls need put back in place, but aside from that I'm not sure. I would like to avoid any further surgery, but I'm not rulling it out!

  17. I am definitely considering it once I reach goal. Especially by boobs!! I would also like to remove some of the extra flab from my arms and maybe my tummy. Time will tell....LOL

  18. It can be ideal. Like weight loss, plastic surgery is no quick fix. It requires careful planning for effective results, just like the journey to lose weight.

  19. You’re doing a great job with your weight! Plastic surgery isn’t just for aesthetic improvement. It can also help us become more confident and more satisfied with ourselves.

  20. Some people may want to go for a surgery after losing too much weight, because there are some instances that it greatly affects the figure of their breasts. This is one of the reasons the breasts continues to sag because it loses it elasticity when we gain weight. Going through under the knife can fix that problem for them, a little breast lift can make their breast look youthful again.

  21. It is so inspiring to read about people who are dedicated in losing weight, when in fact it is a really, really hard thing to do! And it gets even harder every day. Kudos to you and your hard work and I hope you get to reach your goals. I also think that plastic surgery is a fine thing as long as it is your decision and not someone else's.
