Throwback picture post!

First of all I just want to say thank you to everyone who wrote such sweet messages to me about my grandmother! I appreciate it more than you know so thank you very much. Even though I have never met you all I cherish your words as if we have been friends for years.

Secondly, I was inspired by throwback week on facebook to post some older pictures of myself! Seems like everyone is posting pictures from the past so I wanted to join them. Several of them are only a few years old but there are a few from when I was a little girl! As you can tell my weight didnt catch up with me until I was in middle school or so. Trying to get back to "normal" size like the rest of us. Anyways hope you enjoy :)

  5. Hi Kristen!! I currently live in Cahaba Heights, right behind the Summit. My husband and I are actually looking at houses in Alabaster. I have been looking for someone in the area as well! Who did your surgery?

  6. I actually work at the Summit :) Small world! So I bet we have passed each other a number of times! Dr. Schmitt at St. Vincents East did my surgery. What about you?

  8. He did your surgery too?! How cool is that!! I need to go back and get a fill!! So your surgery was in August? Have you done well so far?

  9. Yes, I had my surgery on August 10th 2009. It has been slow since they seem to be conservative on the fills, but the last fill I got was on 1/11 and I can really tell a difference in my restriction. I lost 10 lbs in 8 days, so I know I am finally getting the benefits of it! I go back on 2/22 for possibly another fill. I just need to kick start my exercise! How have you been doing?

  10. Sounds like you have done great so far...10 pounds in 8 days is awesome! Yeah they are super conservative with fills. I have only had 2 fills and total I have 4.5 cc's in my band. I have some restriction but I need more. I have lost 27 pounds total so I am pretty happy overall. And the exercise is the HARDEST part for me! It seems like I cant make myself get up and go work out haha!

  11. Thanks Kristen! 27 lbs is great! I think exercise is the hardest part for everyone...well I like to tell myself that so I won't feel so bad!

  12. Kristin -

I've just come across your blog and want to express my late sympathy regarding your grandmother's passing. I lost my mother 3 years ago and I still miss her so much. She was my best friend and I unfortunately gained the 60 lbs that put me in the morbidly obese category trying to deal with the grief. Congratulations on getting hold of your emotions and losing the little bit of weight you gained. It could have been a lot worse. I am at the beginning stages of my lapband journey and probably won't get banded til Sept. I'm praying the insurance will approve it. I feel like these next 6 months are going to drag by. Reading everyone's blogs and writing my own is helping. Take care.
